Hi
I am going to be putting my pc in a cupboard under the stairs with a monitor just on display in the front room
there is ventilation and i have already have made the hole and used a brush wall plate for a power lead, hdmi cable, usb extension cables....
But i need to be able to turn pc on without opening the cupboard doors
I already have a dimastech switch, but what cable do i use and where do i get it from, i need the cable to be about 2m in length
Then what about crimps etc

Any help very much appreciated!!

I think you could probably use WakeOnLan if your router supports it. that would probably more convenient than a power switch.

I read the title as you wanted a 2metre long switch...:D

:)

It might not be the right or best way to do it, but all I'd do is use some 20 gauge cable (speaker wire would do) to extend the existing power switch. Solder it onto the new switch and cover the joints with some heat shrink. That'd probably be the cheapest way too.

Lol perhaps i should have worded the title and what i actually wanted better :)
But yeah essentially just need the cable, got a switch already...
Would rather have a proper on/off switch, could set bios to boot on power because i will have access to the wall socket it will be plugged into, but like i said if possible would like to power it on/off myself

Ok, so i get that gauge cable but what crimp end do i need?
I have heatshrink/solder etc just need the cable and the crimp end

They're called spade connectors. The size depends on the switch you have. You'll probably find the cheapest place is a car parts shop. You may also want a crimping tool if you want to do it properly, or a pair of pliers should suffice.

I wont hurt to solder the wires straight onto the connections on the switch though if you wanted to do that.

No i mean the motherboard end, i will need to use a crimp so i can then put onto the motherboard power switch header, i have the black plastic clip but dont know what metal crimp i need that then slides into the black plastic clip/header

I see, well its taken a while to find, and my apologies for linking to the bay, but it was the only place I managed to find what you require.
DuPont Connector
I'm assuming thats what you require.

Actually, I've just found them in the rainforest too.
