I play a game called CrossFire which is a really addictive game, but I wanna know how to make a short video on my game play...

I was told to download and install something called Fraps but im not sure what I'm doing, is there an easier way?

Thanks

Easier than Fraps? Fraps is the most simple program in the world.

Well I must be doing something wrong :)

I clicked on 'Movies' and then set the key to F9, so do i just start the game, and press F9 and it starts recording or do i have to do something else?

Thats pretty much it. You can mess around with the FPS and recording resolution if it affects the gameplay too much.

You'll get a watermark unless you purchase fraps as well iirc.

Once you've recorded a bit, you'll have a folder full of AVIs to process in your editor of choice. :)

Fraps is the daddy, and considering it's a one-off payment and comes with regular updates (and access to the betas if you ask nicely) why waste time looking at lesser alternatives.

Yea i play Crossfire too, fraps free version is pretty bad as 30second clips isnt really long enough.

Xfire is another you can use that some people swear by/

Beware that the files if you record long periods will be huge.

It can affect your fps, but play with the settings to sort it out.

GameCam v2 choice of two versions. Don't know if you'll get a longer recording out the trial version than FRAPS.

But the free xfire sounds good option to try first.
