Need to recover Toshiba A30, ref:windows/system32/config/system

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30 which when started shows the system32\config\system error message

It also says I can attempt to repair this by starting windows setup using the original setup cd and pressing "r".

My problem is that when I restart with the start up disk in the drive I am brought back to the screen with the "system32\config\system error message...attempt to repair this by starting windows setup using the original setup cd and pressing r" and can not proceed.

Where am I going wrong?

Sounds like its not booting from the CD. Get into the BIOS settings and change the boot order so that the CD drive is higher than the Hard Drive. I can't be any more specific than that because each computer is slightly different. You may have to press F12 or DEL as the laptop is booting to get into the BIOS settings.
