My monitor is finally giving up on me after years of use, so I need a replacement. I want another crt, so obviously gotta go used, so apart from the sony FW900, which I would love, but is sadly too expensive even used :(, what were the top end or top ranges of crts to lookout for?

Using a diamond pro 750sb at the moment, which has served me well, so another one of these is on the list to lookout for, but apart from that I got nothing, as I've had this years.

Also if you're going to come in and say get an lcd, don't bother, you'll be wasting my time and your time, I'm simply not interested in one.

Thanks.

It's not I want a crt badly, it's just they haven't made an lcd that matches what I want yet.

If they make an lcd that has

No input lag
No native resolution. Not paying £200 or so to be stuck with something that looks like crap outside a single res. 10 year old crt, multiple resolutions, brand new expensive lcd, one res or it looks like crap. Not interested
Viewing angles that match the crt.
Colours that are just as good (black being black etc)

I'll be all over it, but as far as I know there isn't one and until there is, I'm simply not interested in them.

Aside from the native resolution issue, which for the majority of people is not an issue, this sounds like a gap that OLEDs will be filling. From what I've seen so far they are superior to any CRT tech - in the meantime, if you are wanting a good CRT then it could be a bit tricky to get ahold of a good one for your budget. What is your budget, incidentally?

Never really thought about a budget. Looking around crts don't really seem to sell for that much, apart from the fw900 which is still £400-500 :(. So figured anything but that should be affordable.

I use a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u as a reference model for my reviews. I have no idea how much they go for these days or how to get ahold of one, but I would certainly consider similar Mitsubishis.
