Hi
I've been using an LG1720B 17" monitor (1280 x 1024) for some years. I've been pretty happy with it, but I've got some games (I use the PC mostly for gaming) with fixed resolutions at 1024 x 768 (a common resolution for strategy / wargames) which won't run in windows, either. As a result, they look blurry.
I believe that my problem is that the monitor has only an analogue input, so that the screen won't scale properly (or, at least, I have no such option in my Nvidia control panel).
Sounds like I need a new monitor with digital inputs? But which one? (I guess they're all digital now). I'm running a new i920 system with a GTX 260 card, so I've got plenty of oomph. I wouldn't mine playing some of the flight sims I have in higher resolutions than 1280 x 1024, but I'm most concerned to get decent results with the games which are fixed at 1024 x 768. I don't need (or want) an enormous screen - certainly not over 22". I don't really need widescreen either ('though it seems that's all you can buy these days?). Don't really want to pay more than £150.
Had a look at the forum, but can't see anyone with a problem similar to mine (most seem to want huge gaming / HDTV rigs) and the stickied links seem to be to review sites which aren't very up to date.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Paul
