We bought a Hoover Tumble Dryer from Argos (non condensing type) and it has never worked right from the day we had it, we have had a repair guy come out to it 3 or 4 times now and it still doesn't work right.
Argos have agreed to exchange it but don't do this model any more, so this time I though given our bad experience I would ask what I should replace it with.
Obviously It needs to be from Argos.
Price is £179.99 (so equal value will be matched)
brand - Hoover
it is/was a sensor dryer and this is the most important feature for us, can you reccomend what we should be replacing it with, needs to be non-condensing type as well.

Thanks

Argos sell White Knight dryers, pick one that suits you and thank me later. :D

This, my White Knight is 15+ years old and going strong, I have changed the brushes on the motor and replaced the heater but for £99 a the time an extra £30 in parts over 15 years is nothing!

Thread revival - the amazing white knight dryers, are we talking the vented models or the condensing ones? Looking for the latter ideally.

Both are fine, they are complicated beasts so that makes them reliable and cheap to repair.

The only real issue with them was a bunch of dodgy timers that were fitted but they would be replaced under warranty anyway.

Cheers. Liking that they're British made very much!

Do you know if it's possible to swap the door hinges so that they open the other way? Bit of a fiddly utility room here and it seems most of them have their hinges on the left which is not ideal :o

I know my White Knight you can swap the hinges. Model is C45CW

So in the end we paid an additional £40 to get a "better" Tumble dryer, which has just failed for the 2nd time, so under the new consumer rights act 2015 we have obtained a full refund of £221.

The question now is what do we buy (from anywhere) for £221 to replace this one.

As it doesn't need to be condensing I'd get a white knight unless your bothered by it's appearance! Solid reliable piece of kit that should last you a little longer! Although if you have total control I'd look for a gas fired one much much more efficient!
