Need to sell a 3DS XL and a DSi XL How to wipe?

My kids have 2 3ds xl's and a dsi XL that they want to sell on eBay..

I don't know the O/S. How do i ensure all personal data is cleared off them ?

Here's the thing, they all come with pre-installed software such as Mario Kart or Brain Age, so i am reluctant to just hit that Format System, as its warning is it will delete any preinstalled games.

Surely they must have an account, wifi settings, pics and god knows what else, that all needs to be cleared down before i sell these things.

Unlike Microsoft and Sony consoles. Preloaded games with Nintendo are tired to the console and not the account.

So when you format the console and clear all the data, whoever uses the console next will be able to download the preloaded games under their own account on that console only.
