hi peeps.ihave to send a 55 inch tv back to amazon as they said I have to arrange courier.
any recommendations on the couriers that handle large tvs.

They should arrange it for you, ive never been asked by them to do it myself. If the TV is not faulty then that could be the reason why.

When I worked for Stobart (who do a huge amount of logistics for Amazon) more than once I was sent to a private address to pick up a large item - a complete pain in a 55’ long HGV! - one was a T.V., I’m surprised they are asking you to arrange a courier as it’s all usually done in house.

hi m8.
no im sending it back cos im not happy with it.
its still in return window but for some reason they wont pick up themselves and I have to pay a courier and then send them the receipt

hi matt,
amazon are being very unhelpful
the reason I brought the tv from them was because returns were simple.but seems not anymore

I wont be buying from them again.

If there is nothing wrong with it, what do you expect. Why should they be out of pocket because you aren't really with your choice.
If it was faulty I reckon they would collect.

hi rob.
I see your point.
im not happy with tv because the picture is worse than my old tv which is five years old.

I returned few items to Amazon. They got picked up from my work reception where I get stuff delivered. Probably by same driver

Never had any problems.....

I think you are not telling us the full picture

i have had to send several large items back myself and then claim the money back from amazon. 1 27" monitor and 3 sets of folding shelves all came broken. its not unusual for them to do it this way.

i used myparceldelivery.com and they sent one out to hermes and the others to tnt

One thing to consider is that there are a lot of couriers that will not cover the likes of monitors (presumeably TV's too) in case of loss/damage. If the TV get's lost or damaged in transit then you could be seriously out of pocket.

was the TV faulty?

I would be very careful arranging for a TV return because most delivery companies do not allow to post TV or will not insure them. I would read the term and conditions of the company VERY CAREFULLY.

and others have states, amazon will do a local pickup for the return. You should not have to do that with such a large item.

amazon get completely different terms and conditions from their delivery companies you wont unfortunately.

I had to return two broken TVs (40") to Amazon in February. Both turned up broken in some way. Amazon asked me to organise the returns and I was refunded quite quickly afterwards. I used UPS who were around £34 once insurance was included for loss. I couldnt find a reasonable price for any courier who would accept damage on a TV.

Hard to find a good courier that you can trust sending that back. Will probably end up smashed to bits the way they throw things around. Can make things tricky come refund time. This is why I still buy tv’s from Currys were you can see them in the flesh and just return them yourself should you need.
