Hi

I have a pc thats used just for downloading and sharing movies using serviio
also the kids use it for basic web stuff like youtube

lately 1080/uhd movies are shuddering, i know its not the network as my pc can share them fine, so would like to upgrad the pc for a low cost £300-£400 max including cpu motherboard and memory

its currently a Q6600 quad core at 2.4ghz none overclocked with 6GB ram

ok

i was looking at either a AMD Fx-6350 or an intel G4520, not a clue yet at motherboard or ram

so what do you think am I wasting my money or is there better for the price

thanks

wouldnt have thought that came into it as its not being displayed on that pc just streamed to other devices

Gpu is currently Nividia Geforce GTX280

If you just want a general purpose cpu with a motherboard and ram, then a pentium, b250 mobo and 8gb of ddr4 can be had for around the £200 mark, did you also need to include things like an ssd and graphics card, as £300-400 seems a tad much for essentially a streaming box.

was looking at

Asus B150 mobo
16GB DDR4 corsair ram
Intel G4620 CPU
Palit GT 1030 2GB GPU
128GB Plextor M2

B250 mobo looks better for same amout

Don't go paying £95 for a Pentium G4620 when you can pick up a G4560 for £30 less. You are only losing 200mhz which you won't even notice but saving £30 which is a lot when it's a budget pc. They are in stock elsewhere at a few places in the mid £60's becausse I checked before replying.
