Need Unlock 3GS

Just a quick one:

My sister has an iPhone 3GS 16GB which she wants to unlock. Is it ok to trust local phones shops to do it or is it complicated and shall I take it to o2, where she got it from? Don't want to mess it up.

There is no need to take the iPhone anywhere. If the iPhone is with O2 as you say, use this online form to request it to be unlocked more info can be found here. It can take a few working days but once it's done they'll send you a text.

Thanks for that. Just discovered it's not on O2 but with Voda, but I presume they offer something similar.

I'm not 100% sure Vodafone offer an unlocking service for the iPhone, as I'm with O2. Anyone able to confirm?

yup I can confirm!

If an iphone is in contract with vodafone then they will not unlock it and given that voda only started doing iphones in Feb this year they wont do it.

no idea on the iphone box only ones sorry....
