So this is my current work/gaming PC:
-i5 3570k got cpu,mobo and ram in a bundle but its a asus z77a with 8gbs of DDR3
-Gigabyte ATI Radeon 7970 ghz edition windforce 3x 3072MB graphics card.
-Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
-Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache
and a 128gb ssd for the OS.

So now i really want to refine my computer as it takes up a lot of space and i'm in the process of moving into a small apartment. So i want to go with a smaller mini itx build. I also got my hands on a 780ti.

So basically i just need an experts help
-Price isn't an issue my new moto 'buy nice or buy twice'
-Asus Maximus VII hero mobo ?
-I know a smaller case(bitfenix prodigy) a long with a 780ti might have heat issues so what cooling systems etc could i use? id like a quieter system so maybe i should look into water cooling?
-should i go up to 16gb of ram for work use (graphic designer)
-also faster ram
-worth considering a i7 4970k?
-which psu to get
-need bigger HD

and any extra suggestions would be appreciated.

the prodigy is not small lol. i've got one sitting next to me with a fractal arc mini (matx). they're the same size.

tbh, i think you should just stick with your current case and and look to get a 3770k +/- 16gb and more storage

your psu is fine. it's not the best, but it's definitely not the worst either.

+1 to add a 3770k. Simply not worth paying for a full revamp to a 4790k, including case.
However if you did want to downsize, get a blower titan cooler for your GPU and have lots of intake fans, you should be fine. The titan coolers are really excellent in comparison to AMD reference offerings. Perhaps get yourself a bigger SSD (~512GB if you wanted.) Whack 2x4GB of the same RAM in used/new
