Need Upgrade Suggestions

Hello guys, my PC is pretty old now and my PNY 9800GT 512mb has finally died on me after a nice few years of use.

Anyway, few system specs:

ASUS P5VD2-X mobo
9800GT GPU (RIP)
4GB Corsair DDR3 RAM
E6600 Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz)
(cant remember brand of psu, 600w)

I was looking to buy a Sapphire HD 7750 1gb GDDR5 gpu, or something around that price range (£75), but it doesn't work with my mobo. So I'm wondering, what motherboard shall I buy that will be compatible with what I already have (cpu, ram)?

I am also open to suggestions for the gpu btw, if there is a better one in my budget.

Budgets:
£50-75 GPU
£50 mobo (providing this is enough, may be able to stretch to £60 if necessary)

BUT i would say its time for an upgrage on board and cpu
1156 is VERY cheap second hand and would get you an i5+board for around £120
1155 is better but you would be looking at £220 for i5+board

If I stuck with my current mobo, what's the best gpu I could use with it? I don't really want to just buy another 9800gt

considering the mobo is cheap that you linked, would it handle a HD 7750 gpu? as my current doesnt obviously
