Need URGENT honeymoon advice

Evening all!

Getting married 31st May and I'm yet to book a honeymoon as iv been so busy!

Iv narrowed it down to 7 nights in either Mexico Cancun riviera maya or Jamaica Montego Bay. Iv got quotations on fantastic beautiful beach hotels for both and prices etc are all very similar.

My concern - The extended weather forecasts suggest that I should expect several days of rain (not sure how long per day) and cloud with the odd day of thunderstorm. Both Mexico and Jamaica seem similar and vary from website to website. Based on average rainfall per mm and average number of days it rains in June Jamaica seems a little better. My rep is saying Mexico will be a little better.

Help me choose! Mexico Cancun or Jamaica Montego Bay based on sunshine/rain/cloud alone......? :confused::(
 
I can't tell you about Cancun but can tell you to avoid Jamaica, especially Montegro Bay.
How about somewhere good like the Maldives or a better Caribbean Island?

Why do you say that just out of interest? The hotels iv looked at look absolutely fantastic. 5 Star with beautiful beaches and pools etc

Already considered and researched half the world. Unfortunately Maldives weather is worse this time of year as is many of the other caribbean islands. Cancun and Montegro bay are the best value for money and best luxury with limited fuss in regards to flights etc.

Stayed in both countries, there's nothing wrong with Montego Bay. We stayed at the Iberostar Rose Hall Grand and it was fantastic.

OP, the problem now is it is now the rainy season. Try Aruba, as it's a drier island.
 
First learn to spell your intended's name propely as its Ivy not Iv and give her a hand as she's doing everything.
 
If you're concerned about the weather in Mexico and Jamaica for your honeymoon, why not get her all hot and wet in sunny Rhyl?
 
We had a week in playa del Carmen and had a fab time a few years ago. Never been to Jamaica so can't comment. Depends a bit what you want I would think if you're just going to chill at the resort either will be much the same. If you're going to want to soak up some culture etc then one of the seven modern wonders is in Mexico and made for an enjoyable trip out
