Need....Wideangle.......Zoom...

I've just gone and bought a minty 20D with all associated bits and bobs for nice price, and am in the process of flogging off my D100 & 18-70 via gaybay (boo hiss!).

I need a quick fix really, £100 is utter, utter max I want to spend (just want something to tide me by until funds arrive for something decent). The obvious choice would be the Canon 18-55, but if there's anything better I'd give that a shot. I know there's also the Sigma 18-50, but these vary in quality, non?

So, what would one recommend?

I'm by no means a brandwhore, so I'd be happy with any make so long as it's ok quality.

Canon > Nikon adapter ring + Nikkor 18-70

I'd go for an 18-55

I had one of these for all of a day. Sent it back because I didn't think much of it.

Glad to hear you're sorted now, though. It probably is unused - lots of people buy the kits with every intention of selling on the lens right away.

Not sure whether I got a deal or not really now. Not bothered though, because my 20D body arrives tomoz and I need something ASAP to test it with!

i'd never heard of that Tokina but I think you made a big mistake buying the crappy kit lens if you found a copy for £69

nah It wasnt that. I got suspeneded and couldnt post. I saw your thread. just couldnt do anything about it!
