Ok i want a ati graphics card, i have an amd quad pc 3ghz overclocked to 3.60ghz, and i want to max games out the best i can. I will be buying this monitor http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-086-SA

I play games like crysis, call of duty urrm far cry 2 etc.
What ATI graphics card would you recomend, i have been looking at these two.

Id say the 4890 if your going to pick another one up later on, as they may be cheaper then, but at the minute, 2x are not worth an extra £90+ over the x2, as they wont be that much faster.

This is good advice, a 1GB 4870 will be able to play games at your monitors resolution & you could save the difference for a DX11 card later this year.
Either of the other cards you like would be a good buy & would allow you to max out your games though.
 
ok, at the moment i have a 3870x2 so a 4850 = about the same so what about the 4890 or a cheap 4870x2 and latter on down the year get a new gfx card? I sopose the DX11 cards are for the release of windows 7? and will it eb any better directx 11? anybody got preview of it or anything?

yup same as me and i have it overclocked:D
 
It will run at all very high no problem, but once I turned the settings to enthusiast I did not find it very playable at 2048x1152.

However I ran 4890 crossfire briefly and it was very playable at enthusiast settings...but really I would not spend another 160 for just 1 game. The 4890 eats through nearly all games out there...

I also don't see used prices dropping below 100-110 quid by the time the next gen cards come out..something to keep in mind if you plan on selling it and then buying the new cards when they come out.
