Once again , I am extremely in awe of all the friendly advice and suggestions.

I think I will go for an AMD Phenom build.

This "crap" is noticeable slower in FarCry only. 1 MB instead of 3 MB L2 cache per core doesn't make huge difference. I've swapped E8400 for Q8400 and I'm surprised in plus by fps raise (esp. minFPS) in my games.

It is crap. It's very overpriced and too cut down. The Q9450 used to sit at that price point and that had 12mb of cache. There is absolutley no point in spending £125 on a overpriced cpu on a dead socket.

Might be worth waiting a little and seeing if you can find out if that MSI board will be bulldozer-compatible. That way, you'll have a good upgrade path for the CPU if you need more performance in the future. ASUS have announced some boards as compatible with a BIOS update already.

ordering indeed today, to be honest not too worried about the Bulldozer compatibility, as I dont plan on replacing the chip anytime soon
