Needing a little help :(

Well i'm a noob to overclocking (never done it before). I was wondering if someone could list what things i need to do to get a over clock on a E2140. I'm not trying to push the chip as far as it can go, i just want somthing in the region of 2.4ghz. I read the guide for beginners but kinda got lost becasue it was very long. All i got from it was that for me i'd need to Increase the FSB a little every time. What about RAM and stuff would i need to/am i going to touch the settings for those? If it helps the system specs are :
Abit IP35
E2140 (or the E2160 if it'll be easy to overclock as it's not that much more expensive)
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency
Arctic Cooler Freezer pro 7

I know that you may need to change the settings for the ram, when I overclocked before I 'locked' them almost so that when I increased the fsb on the cpu, it wouldn't increase the fsb on the ram.
 
For such a low overclock don't worry too much about the details. Get Orthos and CoreTemp in their latest versions, monitor temps and check for stability. Try to keep temps under 60 Degrees on load and make sure your final overclock is 8 hours prime stable.

Just up the FSB a little at a time. Please let us know if you have any questions.
 
You'll hit 2.4ghz easily with either of those chips...

All you need to do is go into the BIOS, set the memory timings manually (see the box to find out what they are) and then put the memory on a divider - by default it'll run on Auto, change it so it's underclocked to say 533mhz to start off with.

Next, put up the FSB 20mhz, boot into Windows, and run a 10 minute Stress test under Orthos. Repeat until:

A) Orthos fails. Put up the voltage one notch and try again.
B) You reach your target of 2.4ghz.

When you get to B), go into the BIOS, and choose the RAM divider which gets your memory closest to 800mhz, but not above.

Finally, boot back into Windows and run Orthos for 8 hours to check for complete system stability :)
