but which is better between these 2

Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT Silent Cell PASSIVE 1GB DDR3

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4670 ULTIMATE PASSIVE 512MB DDR3

i dont play games only desktop and internet and HD movies playback

will both be just the same as the ati is £20 cheaper would the nvidia be overkill or would it be better ?

and would either one work on the Asus P7P55D Pro Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard with no problems

Since you don't play games then the 4670 is good enough. And yes, it will work with your motherboard.

If you're not playing games then just get the cheaper one. They are both capable of decoding HD movie codecs on board & will be fine for everything else you need. Make sure your power supply has the correct connecters capable of powering the card (or that the card you order comes with an appropiate adaptor)
 
That'll be plenty of juice for what these cards need & will have the right connections without needing any extra adaptors.
 
Thanks all got the ati version Should be ok for my i5 build as I only use it for desktop, movies, and windows7 never game at all and should blow my 5 year old ati x700 away lol
