Hello All

Needing some advice on upgrading my current PC its been a slow process but im now at the stage where im looking at a new CPU MOBO Memory

im a heavy gamer and i know my setup is just about coping with the strain of SC2 and with MW3 and battlefield3 coming out i want to make sure i can run those.

My Case is a Antec Dark Fleet DF 85, so i have plenty of room

Gigabyte GA P35-DS3R (775) Mobo
4gb Crucial Ballistix DDR2
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

OCZ Vertex 3 120gb SSD
Gigabyte Geforce GTX460 OC 1024MB GDDR5 (was an 8800GTS)
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w PSU (i think)

i have been looking at going the sandybridge way but wasnt 100% sure,

hope someone can help me.

Martin

General consensus appears to be:

2500k
Asrock Extreme 4
Corsair DDR3
Thermalright Silver Arrow

this if you are desperate for an upgrade, but come aug/sept there will hopefully be bulldozer on the market and more news on IB and SB-E so if you can wait then might get better for your money.

no not desperate as at the moment my build can run the games im currently playing, and plus as its so called "summer" time i have noticed the game production has slowed up, all waiting for the christmas spree....

please excuse my ignorance but bulldozer? ive heard of IvyBridge but not SB-E?

must admit not heard of the Asrock Extreme 4 or really checked out Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU Cooler but both look pretty immense!

Thanks for replying.

bulldozer is AMDs new offering, SB-E will be intels sandy bridge extreme cpus.
the extreme 4 motherboards are very good value for money, a lot of features for not a lot of cost. i have one myself and would recommend it to anyone, its a nice board.
