Needing new pc, help!

Hi guys,

its been a nearly 4 years since i got this pc (e6400,2gb,1950xtx) and its time for an upgrade as im going back to uni. Im not really sure whats good anymore as i stopped really looking at gaming on a pc in favour of my xbox, however i started playing wow and its brought all the pc gaming feelings back.

So i need a system ideally less than £800(can go a bit over) that will play games (BFBC2 when i get the pc, Wow although that doesnt take much and some other games such as tf2 and a bunch of other stuff i have on steam)

Id like a Intel system with a Ati graphics card, i need everything but monitor, keyboard and mouse oh and windows 7.

Your help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

its a 24" dell. 1900x1080.

Cheers for the replies, ive got a couple of questions.

Is the 5830 an underclocked 5850 or is there a big step up in terms of performance?

Speaking of performance, as im not going to play some games and mess about on the net, will i need quadcore or will i get away with dual core?

Next up are intel the way forward?, when i last bought my pc intel were miles ahead with c2d, how is it now?
