Needing to cool a bit

I have started to overclock a bit and now need to replace the stock CPU cooler I have.

I would like to look at a water cooled option, and like the look of the Corsair "ready made" options, I am a fan of the brand; have been for a while.

What I am not sure about is where I should place the radiator, what size of radiator I should get and also what position the fans should be in?

My current setup is below, I have a Corsair 275 case:

So I have two fans at the front blowing in and then three blowing out - two at the top and one at the back.

If I go for something like this:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £158.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

What size would I be best to get and where would I be best to place it? Do the fans go in front of the radiator and so they blow the air through the radiator and out of the case?

Appreciate any help, just not sure how these work for fans/size etc.

240mm radiator would be ideal mounted at the top for the case you have as the front looks like it would suffocate airflow abit. If the front is meshed however then i would mount it up front to get the coldest air through the radiator and not recycled warm air from your system.

edit: doesn’t particularly matter for temperatures however for maintenance i.e cleaning the dust from the radiator its better to have the fans in pull (pulling the air through the radiator) so the dust gets trapped on the opposite side.

Thanks buddy, the front of the case has a magnetic mesh filter in it, not solid at all.

I assume that the fans only blow one way, so can't pull air - can only push it? Based on this would the fans then go on the outside of the front of the case and the radiator on the inside of the case, so to speak? I guess then I would not see the RGB on the fans, not that important but just trying to work it out.

Managed to confuse and then un-confuse myself, thanks for the help.

The Corsair fans I have are the white ones, they are the LL model which are only visible from one side. The other ML fans are visible from both sides.

If you still need help i can show you with the aid of some pictures of different configs as we explained above.
Yes, would help massively. I've got myself really confused, partly I think due to the specific nature of the white Corsair fans I currently have.

Looks like I have limited options for the top, the space is already quite tight with just the fans in there - so no space for a radiator also I don't believe as the fans would hit the memory modules.

Is there only 1 set of mounting holes at the top for the 120mm fans? If it doesn’t then it does indeed look like your only option is to front mount it as per the second config. Theres ample room there for a push pull setup.

Yes, the fans are hard up against the top of the case - so no more room.

So I have decided to try out the AMD Wraith MAX cooler, was on offer so seems like a good investment.

Have installed this and the CPU is definitely running cooler, so that is a good start.

Will give it a few days and see how it goes.

I would like to replace my front fans with 140mm ones though, to give some more air in from the front of the case and into the GPU.

I would ideally like some RED RGB ones, but I seem to be struggling to find some that will show the colour if I want them to blow the air into the case and not push it out - any ideas anyone?

Thanks buddy, will have a look.

I don't really want the frame of the fan showing, as you seem to get when reversing them - but seems I have little choice.
