Basically, The drobocopy part of the Drobo system is being phased out. The reason is that since Lion came out, their software got really buggy and I spoke with their tech support they are removing it from their next update. Their current version is so buggy it crashes the program whenever i click on it so it is useless anyway.

Now, what other backup software are there that basically does the simple.

1 - Point to one Folder in a HD as source

2 - Points to another folder in another HD as destination

And then mirrors the destination to the source ?

I tried that when i started getting problems with drobocopy but it seems the way it does things is similar to Time Machine, it creates an Archive folder everytime the schedule back up runs you you end up multiple and endless old dates folders.

I think i prefer the way drobocopy did things, just a live back up of the source folder. However, the main reason i didn't like it was because I tried to use it WITH drobocopy, because it creates an extra archive folder for each day, the destination for Drobocopy also moved, which ruined the schedule rule for Drobocopy.

I mean it is not the end of the world the way CCC does things if that is the only software running, but it does mean it uses up more space.

On the plus side, it is free.
