Negative temperature showing in ATI tool

Hi guys,

Hoping for some help on a small problem I have. I have an MSI 7900GTO which is overclocked using ATI Tool (v0.26). As far as I can tell, the temperatures seem fine in-game (mid 60's), but there is a strange issue which leads me to say this tentatively... After a while of gaming or ATI tool artefact testing, the temperature shows up as -190 degrees.

I know there have been potential issues with the software interpreting the data from the temperature diodes, but having done some searches I've not come up with any useful information to help resolve the problem.

I'm confident that the temperatures are ok, but it would be nice to be certain. Do you think a newer beta version of ATI tool may fix the problem? Is there a better piece of software for overclocking and temperature monitoring? I've used ATI tool for a few years and really like the simple interface, so am reluctant to change unless I really need to.

TIA,
Nami

Cheers for the reply.

The only reason I was reluctant to try a new version is that v0.26 is the latest stable version. There are some beta versions of 0.27, so I guess I'll try those tonight.

I have the same card and ATiTool 0.26 never does that with my temps. Maybe you have a faulty temperature sensor on the card that plays up when toasty.
