Negligence Solicitor

Good luck with this, the documents we have had from surveyors have statements more slippery the a fish from slippery bay.

Yep. Surveyors state in their reports (reports you pay hundreds of pounds for) that they will not be held liable for any of their mistakes.
I do hope, if true, you can prove negligence though. Proving negligence might just outweigh the disclaimers they put in their reports. Good luck.

pretty much everything in my survey said to consult another expert. What is the problem?
Looking for a solicitor recommendation to deal with a negligent lender surveyor. I was forced to pay out for another structural engineer report as they said my property "had a history of movemen" without any proof. Apparently their history goes back 10 years but can't actually prove it or provide any evidence. I will be taking them to court for damages and the cost of the new report

I took my case with a surveyor to Rics. They should be registered with them.
No solicitor was needed and they looked into my claim and ruled in my favour.
Surveyor was forced to pay out.

What are the odds we can make a case? We asked for the RICS complaints procedure/policy from our surveyors and the MD emailed back directly saying "I am the complaints process" and basically refused to talk to us.

Re-reading the report a year from completion it's laughable - claims of cavity wall insulation (there's about 10 feet of external brick wall and the rest is timber or PVC - no cavities to consider insulating). All sorts of info that we now realise was fully made up and they didn't look very closely at anything at all.

So RICS state that you must go through surveyor complaints procedure first, if you don't have a satisfactory outcome then you can go directly to Rics.

We claimed on a surveyor many years ago, all through their internal complains procedure and from memory we got about £850. The report cost £500ish and the cost to repair the issues they'd missed cost about £200.

I can't imagine instructing a Solicitor will help in any way other than leave you a lot of extra stress and probably a bigger bill at the end than any potential payout.

Might try the complaints process first but they didn't seem particularly bothered about making stuff up or apologetic. The lenders surveyor (who was the same person who came out last year) has done nothing but cause frustration, stress and anxiety. I will be pursuing Connells for the money back plus more. What made it worse was the fact the surveyor (Connells) actually told my estate agent there were no issues, then proceeded to make an unsubstantiated claim about subsidence. Thankfully the new report proved that there is no movement so their claims are absolutely false. Kinda feel like they have a vendetta.

I was advised to look for Negligance Solicitors as they specifically deal with Lender Surveyors for issues like mine.
