Good luck with this, the documents we have had from surveyors have statements more slippery the a fish from slippery bay.
Looking for a solicitor recommendation to deal with a negligent lender surveyor. I was forced to pay out for another structural engineer report as they said my property "had a history of movemen" without any proof. Apparently their history goes back 10 years but can't actually prove it or provide any evidence. I will be taking them to court for damages and the cost of the new reportpretty much everything in my survey said to consult another expert. What is the problem?
I took my case with a surveyor to Rics. They should be registered with them.Looking for a solicitor recommendation to deal with a negligent lender surveyor. So RICS state that you must go through surveyor complaints procedure first, if you don't have a satisfactory outcome then you can go directly to Rics. What are the odds we can make a case? We asked for the RICS complaints procedure/policy from our surveyors and the MD emailed back directly saying "I am the complaints process" and basically refused to talk to us.
Re-reading the report a year from completion it's laughable - claims of cavity wall insulation (there's about 10 feet of external brick wall and the rest is timber or PVC - no cavities to consider insulating). All sorts of info that we now realise was fully made up and they didn't look very closely at anything at all.
Pretty sure being refused to use the complaints procedure is an unsatisfactory outcome! So RICS state that you must go through surveyor complaints procedure first, if you don't have a satisfactory outcome then you can go directly to Rics.
If you keep it to email then just forward those to rics as proof they've not replied.Pretty sure being refused to use the complaints procedure is an unsatisfactory outcome!
I was advised to look for Negligance Solicitors as they specifically deal with Lender Surveyors for issues like mine.We claimed on a surveyor many years ago, all through their internal complains procedure and from memory we got about £850. The report cost £500ish and the cost to repair the issues they'd missed cost about £200.
I can't imagine instructing a Solicitor will help in any way other than leave you a lot of extra stress and probably a bigger bill at the end than any potential payout.
If it's a surveyor they are registered with RICS. Give them a ring. Unlike a solicitor there is no charge.I was advised to look for Negligance Solicitors as they specifically deal with Lender Surveyors for issues like mine.
