negotiating a new phone contract

so guys I think I made a choice, I'm going to give the finger to O2/carphone warehouse when they ask me to renew, and get a sim only plan with unlimited data!

rage against the machine!

Thats what im doing in 12 months, just got myself a chinese phone for £80 and its bloody awesome, ill be keeping my sim after the 12 months and not getting a new phone from 02 ever again, this contract im on costs me £600 over 2 years just for the phone !

Do what I do and always cancel the contract. I have done this for the past 4 years with EE and got progressively better deals.
I am currently paying £16 monthly for 18Gb of data and unlimited calls and texts. Will do me until renewal time when I will call up, cancel again and wait for their retention team to give me yet another deal.

Still miss the full monty for £11 a month though...

defo decided to get a three sim only and buy phone outright

can anyone recommend me a good theme? I'm sick of using samsungs now, fancy a change.. had the s4/s5/s6

I'm coming to end of 24 month contract with O2 ( carphone warehouse ) at £28 a month

I get unlimited texts/minutes and 4gb of data, pretty good

My contract expires in a week and carephone warehouse rang me before, and offered me a FREE s7 with 3gb of data for £38.. not bad, but I think I can do better

does anyone have any tips? Of course I have history with O2/CW so will get a better deal with them, rather than going to someone like EE ( has more data ) or three ( has unlimited handset )

Last week wife got a CPWH upgrade, to the s7edge, 70 up front, 36.50 a month for 2 years, 3Gb data, unlimited others, on o2.
She applied online through quidco and should receive £75 in cashback, makes the 2 years cost £881 in my determination. Worked out cheaper for her than buying outright which was my usual MO, esp with apple gubbins.

-edit this was the edge not the normal s7 I must add.

free s7 though but only 3gb data, but still, he was like " this offer won't be available tomorrow " I was like no thanks, Ill take my chances

damn. i would have told him. well my good man i have recorded this conversation so if the offer is still available tmw when i call back you'll be hearing about it :D and see what he says, just for a laugh ;)

i rang virgin the other day because my bb is up and told them i was leaving to BT. they upped me to 70mb which isn't too bad, and reduced my payments to £10 a month fixed for 18 months, even thou the contract is still 12 months.

I will use that line when they ring me on the 9th when my contract is up :)

so I rang o2, offer was pitiful.. £49 a month for 30 gb of data and £29 for new s7, not pitifiul but I explained three do unlimited data for 20 quid a month and I could get an s7 off ebay for 400-450

she didnt really have anything after that

is your contract up now? i would call their cancellation department and ask about how you get your PAC code, as you haven't received a decent upgrade offer - you don't have to follow through. you never know, might get lucky with a better deal.

also hehe about explaining you could get the phone off ebay :D and make it work out cheaper. they're not too interested in you talking to be fair. it's more about whether you will stay with them or not.

It's very very rare you'll get any upgrade deals that will beat a new contract offer from elsewhere, I don't even bother wasting my time these days just find a new contract then call and get my PAC.

It ends in one month, but I could upgrade 1 month early. I rang and asked for PAC code, then the offer came
