Hopefully not THE worst "I can't sleep all night thread ever"...

... but, as from 22:30 last night the neighbours alarm, possibly smoke / cm, possibly just a bleeding loud alarm clock, has been going off right by my bedroom. It's loud, and pierces right through the wall / tv noise etc. All night. Obviously they are out (or dead from Carbon monoxide of course)

It was still going off 30 mins ago when I left for work. Didn't get much sleep through it - not bothered really if it is sorted when I get home however what if it's still going this evening / all night?? what can I do?

is this something I should phone the local police station about or just leave it for however long these punters are away for and have to put up with it?

advices please ocuk'ers!

/note, neighbour not fit, so no pasty smashing suggestions please :D

ring fire brigade, say you think there are people still in the house, and the fire alarm is going
mention how its one of those new fangled carbon monoxide ones.

hehe, yeah, they'll smash the back door in :D

however my neighbours won't be overly impressed when they return from where ever they are, and then leave nails under my tyres I imagine!

argh. I hope they are back when I get home this afternoon and have turned the fracking thing off

/rant mode!

Did you even at any point (you didn't say you did) try go over and see if they're in at any other time?

yeah I did yesterday when I got home about 2am. Their car is gone too, so odds are they are out (I don't really think they are dead lol!)

also I wouldn't call the fire service for this, I was just thinking the local police station this evening if it is still going strong.

So there is never a time, even on weekends where both of you are in? Leave a note?

of course yes I'll talk to them when they are back mate :) but this only happened yesterday evening and all through the night, so they've not been back yet and have been away the entire time it's been happening (about 12 hours or so now). So I've not been able to talk to them to resolve it, hasn't happened before ;) and I hope it doesn't happen again lol!

just to note - this isn't like a flat battery beeping - it's properly going off, beeping loudly every other second. I think from some posts folk think it's just the battery / has been doing it for ages or something.
