since moving from 32bit vista to 64bit to get the full 4gb of ram iv noticed when i use nero to copy a disk it completly uses all my 4gb, i dont get why it does it because if i use another progam to disk copy it doesnt eat my ram. anyone have any ideas why this is?

Yep, I noticed that too.

Locks the computer with 100% mem usage. I dont know if there is a solution to it - perhaps setting the program to run in XP compatibility mode fixes it?

Whilst I can't offer you a 'fix' for Nero have you considered using InfraRecorder...

http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/

It is available in both 32 and 64bit flavours.

Whilst it might be short of the eyecandy and bells and whisltes of Nero it only weighs in at less than 3mb to download. It is very responsive and light on its memory demands when being used.

For me Nero has become very bloated for what I use it for, even a custom install does not make it as good as InfraRecorder.

nero is defunct now

between infra recorder, imgburn & convertxtodvd there's no reason to install nero! (about 30mb total when all 3 are installed)
