Anyone got any ideas on how to get Nero installed for Vista? I've read that some guy created a cut down version to run on Vista, Nero Lite, but I've just downloaded the latest version from softpedia, tried to install it and it says the program is corrupt.

Any ideas

The normal release installs fine on Vista - the Lite version just strips some of functions out of the normal release.

Try downloading it from somewhere else it could just be that copy thats corrupt.

I installed Nero fine this morning on my Vista.

Hmm, well I've tried the latest version of Nero, again, and it won't install because it wants to install Direct X 9 also. If I un-tick Direct X 9 it won't let me go any further. Doing my head in now!

I just ticked yes at this stage and it installed, i did think twice as about it as i thought with it being directx9 it may cause some problems but it hasnt yet?

Just install DX9, it doesn't overwrite DX10 or anything. There's quite a few games that want DX9 installed too.

Hmm, I'll give it another try anyway. Was a bit worried about sticking DX9 back on, but seems like it's the only option.

I've not had any problems so far, been running this Vista system since Dec. DX9 and DX10 stuff runs ok, so I don't see the harm in it.

i got nero essencials 7 with my 8800gts gfx card and it wont install on my vista home premium 64bit!

any way to install it peeps?

very basic, but the best image burner there is, has a 'build' mode where you can do basic file burning

http://infrarecorder.sourceforge.net/

freeware, better than imgburn (easier to see) for burning loads of files

both are freeware and loads smaller in filesize than nero
