Nest Thermostat compatability

Bit confused with this one. Just got an apartment and want to replace the wired thermostat (Boss) with a Nest. I ran the compatibility checker online which just asks what heating type it is, whether the existing thermostat is wired etc, and it says the Nest Thermostat E is compatible. But when I go through the setup via the app none of the wires match and it says it's not compatible.

If that's not clear the terminals across the top are N L 1 2 3 4 with Earth bottom right. It's pretty simple wiring setup that I'm sure I've seen before when fitting my previous Nest Thermostat.

Any advice?

Erm you wire in the L N into the nest and the switch live in 4 to the switch live on the nest.
The E seems complicated, you'd have to figure out its manual.

I mean, thanks, but that does not clear things up lol.

This is the guide: https://nest.com/support/images/misc-nest-thermostat/nest-thermostat-e-install-guide.pdf. Page 7 even says stranded wires aren't compatible, which mine are. What difference would that make?!

This is the compatibility checker I used before purchasing: https://store.google.com/gb/widget/compatibility/thermostat?hl=en-GB. It's official and clearly for the GB market. It's even the one linked to from the manual. Literally all it asks is "What kind of heating system do you have?" and "Do you already use a thermostat?". Output is simply "Great news! The Nest Thermostat E will work in your home."

No mention of stranded wires or how the terminals are labelled at that point, only in the manual.

Take the two blues (N), join them together in a block connector, not connected to anything else.
Do the same for the single earth wire.

Remove the brown link from L&2 and discard.

Take the brown from terminal 1 and connect to C at the Nest.

Take the black from terminal 4 and connect to NO at the Nest..

If you need any help just message me and I'll guide you through it m8, I do this for a living :)

Thanks, I'll give this a go.
