Nested quotes

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but how do you quote a previous reply which contains a quote, and include all the quotes in a nested way?

I know you can build nested quotes manually as in:

Quoted text from poster one here.

Nested quoted text from poster two here.

Are there any options in your user settings to quote all text from a post(including their quotes) when using the quote option.

When posting now, and I use the "quote button" on a reply, it seems to snip all previous quotes from the original post and lose context

I know I have the answer regarding building the nested quoting manually, but that is a bit of a drag. Most other forums I use will include previous quotes automatically, without snipping them.

Is there no way to automate that on this forum?

Probably a setting in the admin panel. I know there is in phpbb. Max Nested Quotes. Probably set to 1.

Yea maybe, I couldn't find anything on my contol panel, hopefully an admin will respond.

Edit:

We broke phpnuke forum once by making a huge quoteamid.

Obviously people would have to be responsiple in their snipping, but that could apply to a single (long) quote

I would imagine it's done on purpose, to prevent the annoying cascade of quotes that some people seem to delight in.

Yea, I agree that it is open to abuse, but it can really lose context.

It's disabled on this board and i imagine doing it manually will get you a swift holiday.

Why would that be if it is done to keep context and not over used?
