Hi all,
Is anyone aware of any software that I could download to monitor how much my internet usage is? I don't use a lot but just recently BT say it has gone over its limit and I rarely download anything.
I would like to find a little desktop tool to check my monthly usage if such a thing exists? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks:)

There is a piece of software caleld Broadband Download Monitor, which is freeware. Maybe someone who has used software like that will know more.

I've used that to help out some of my wife's family who were in a similar situation to you.
The problem you'll have is that it will only monitor the PC that it's installed on. If you've got one or more PC's you'll need to install it on all of them and total up the usage.

Obviously it won't meter iPhones/iPad's etc.

Keep in mind if you have more than one PC / device then you'd need to monitor them all. Alternatively if you have SNMP support on your router (pretty common) you can calcualte it from there.

Thanks for all the help folks.
I have decided to use NetSpeedMonitor. It gives me session, daily and monthly figures which are perfect for my needs. You're help & advice has been much appreciated.

I use NetMeter. It has a whole bunch of metrics to monitor your usage, like a graph and the ability the reset the count whenever you want. Keep in mind that you should treat your bandwidth using like a lunch containers, though, and reset it periodically (I suggest changing it every time your bandwidth is renewed).
