net drops using programs like bittorrent through routers

Hi guys, the last three routers i have had have had occasional net drop issues when im using program like bittorrent. this has happened with both wireless and wired but mainly wireless. I have the ports i use forwarded properly through my router options but it still cuts my net and then reconnects in anywhere from 10seconds-5minutes. It's very annoying is there any reason why my net drops with specific downloading programs?

Your router is being overwhelmed with connections.

Limit the global max connections allowed in your bittorrent app to less than 200.
