.Net framework 3.5

Hi all

strange help request lol. im trying to install intel burn test. but every time it just says that .net framework 3.5 is required. try to download it with the windows update link that comes up and I get error code 0x800F0906. saying it couldn't be installed.

im using windows 8.1 64 bit if its any help

I think, for Windows 8.1 you use control panel / programs and features and enable it there.

Ensure the Windows Update Service is enabled in Services.

Also give method 2 in this knowledgebase article a try (particularly step 5) - and then use the method suggested by m4cc45 to install:
