Got a small problem that you clever guys may be able to help me with:

Up until a couple of months ago, I was running a betting bot without problems; it then crashed and I asked for support from the makers. They say that the bot is designed to run with .netframework 3.5 + SP1:

Look in 'remove prog's' to find that I have version 4 (latest).
Uninstalled it and downloaded 3.5.
Installed without error messages but does not show in 'remove progs' even after reboot etc.

Bot still won't run; error dialogue says 'something has caused the program to stop working' etc

HP ML110 g5 (old server)
Running Windows 7 enterprise with latest updates.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

have you ticked "who updates" or what ever the option is called?

No idea what you mean but I have tried running the installer as admin etc and disabling Norton and fire wall etc; in fact, many combinations for both the bot and .netframework.

From what i understand the .net versions are different. In that they are not forward and backward compatible in all cases. So if you have version 4 installed and something requires version 3.5 it won't necessarily work. Best thing to do is reinstall 4 and reinstall 3.5.

Basically i would never uninstall .net or c++ libraries manually. You should have left 4 installed and installed 3.5 at the same time.

uninstall the software.

install version 4 .net
install version 3.5 .net
install the software

good luck
