Net goes down when front door shuts

This is really confusing me! what will happen if I have people walking up and down the hallway in the house I will get lag spikes and sometimes it will disconnect.

Today being Halloween my front door is opening and closing a fair few times.. anyway every time the doors shuts I wont have a connection for around 30 seconds to a minute.

And my game will just attempting to reconnect.

I'm using a power line if that makes any difference.

any ideas?

Pick up the telephone and open and close the door. Listen to what happens.

This, in my old house it did and it took a few engineers to work it out as the cause of the issue.

Yeah the cabling runs above the door did the engineer fix the problem for you?

I get lag spikes even just from someone walking up the hallway! something must be super sensitive somewhere along the line.

I suspect the phone line is relatively old and the house has shifted slightly since it was fitted. I imagine the cable gets 'pinched' when people walk past and open/close the door.

Sounds like your going to need an engineer to install a new run to the house to sort that out.

Follow the cable back and make sure there isnt another BT junction box in the house as there only responsible for the cable to the first box.
