.NET + Java = Good Combo?

Hi All,

Just wanted to gather your thoughts on .net and java as I'm thinking about either enrolling on a course or teaching myself.

Sooooooo how difficult would you say these are to learn?

I done some java in college...... over 5 years ago. And from what I can remember I didnt like it much!

c# and Java aren't really that dissimilar for programming with tbh.

You can learn both at once!

If you start with something like c#.net theres a lot of resources and tutorials to get you going. Since you've already dabbled in programming before, I don't think you should have an issue learning.

Just a quick background - Currently work in IT. My main area of business is in Database Administration (Data querying, report writting, ect ect ect).

I think this could be of greater coupled with a fair amount of knowledge in Java and .net.

Out of interest what qualifications do you have?

Choose either Java or C# and focus on that. I'd recommend C# but both are good choices
