Anyone on here using netatmo to control their heating? Servers are down again this morning, the third time in a week, so I'm thinking of switching to either Hive or Tado. Has anyone got experience of both and if so, is one better than the other or are they similar in terms of functionality. Netatmo is still following the schedule, but I often boost it via the app, especially during cold spells like we're experiencing recently, so I need something reliable.

Same problem here. Servers overloaded is my guess. Never had an issue in the 3 or 4 years we've had the thermostat but presumably everyone is messing with their schedules/manual boosts a lot this year which is causing server issues.

Not sure why it has to be cloud based to be honest, but they need to do something. I was thinking of getting the smart trv's but this has made me consider moving away completely.

If you need to boost it, aren;t you in the house and can just do it manually this time?
At the time no, but yes you can boost it via the thermostat, but not with the level of control the app gives you i.e an end time for the boost. Some have reported the thermostat wasn't connecting to the receiver but I didn't have that issue.

I won't use cloud services for critical stuff like this. I've got Home Assistant so going to set up a ZigBee switch and connect that in place of the thermostat. Then just use phones or a tablet in the hall, combined with the temperature sensors already dotted around the house.

As of a couple of hours ago I noticed I can no longer reach my thermostat relay. Not through my Android App or through my PC (https://my.netatmo.com/app/therm).

I've tried rebooting my router, relay, TP Link mesh, phone and nothing helps. Odd thing is I can see the Relay connected to my Demo Mesh wireless network...

If I look at my history (via https://my.netatmo.com/app/therm) I can see my last temp reading was 14:59.

You other thermostat users all OK?

Everything fine here. Servers went down for a few hours around 5 days ago, but fine since. :)

Perhaps try reinstalling the app.
Nothing to do with the app. If I use the browser interface (https://my.netatmo.com/app/therm):-

And I can see the relay IS connected to my wifi network. I've rebooted everything top to bottom a couple of times.

I've raised a support ticked but I think I can see other people struggling with the same issue on social media, and worryingly, it not being resolved.

My neighbour 5 doors down has the same unit. No problem until just now where he is now failing with the "Cannot connect to server" error.

I'm working fine.

Bizarre!
