Hi All,
Im hoping to save a bit of time by asking the question to save me setting up a couple of VMs to test. My question is, can you get NetBIOS name clashes when the PC names (not the FQDN) are the same.
e.g.
You have 2 PCs that have been joined to two different networks, however the 2nd Network Card on each PC result in being linked together.
PC 1 is connected to the TEST1 domain
Name: CLIENT.TEST1.com
IP NIC 2: 192.168.100.1
PC 2 is connected to the TEST2 domain
Name: CLIENT.TEST2.com
IP NIC 2: 192.168.100.2
The IP addresses are different so therefore no IP conflict, however as the hostnames are both CLIENT, would this result in a NetBIOS clash, or would the FQDN stop this?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
