Since i last looked at netbooks there seems to have been an explosion of different models and variations. And now i'm confused!

I'm looking for a cheap netbook, £200 max for basic use. Internet, office ect...

Size: 10 or 11 inches.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Gil.

I got the Advent 4213 (rebranded ECS G10IL) a few months ago for £229.99 as I was starting college. Was the cheapest I could find. Good little netbook, runs Windows 7 happily although comes with XP installed. Firefox and Office run nicely on it, and I get around 3 hours battery life. It also has a SIM card slot for 3G internet, although I just Bluetooth my phone to it. Keyboard is a tad small although not unusable you just need to get used to it. It's the standard spec of N270, 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD which isn't too bad, if I download the HD stream from iPlayer it will happily play it even upscaled when plugged into a 1080p screen!

I saw the 1008HA for £199, very good deal indeed, though battery can't be changed, and memory and hard disk are not easily upgradable. It's very nice and thin though.

Does the NC10 @ £220 represent the best netbook for around £200 then? I tried one the other day and it seemed a bit thick and bulky, as well as the screen not closing down properly on the keyboard. Not sure if that's a problem with all of them though, this one was a little scruffy.

What about the successor the the NC10? Is it better?
