Netbook advice

Hi

My step-daughter used to have a laptop but it got broken.
I was going to buy her a netbook after someone told me they are simalar to laptops but after having a quick look about most netbooks seem to have around a 10inch screen and 1gb of ram.

Would this be suitable for general internet browsing, facebook and other general teenage pc things?

The only pc game she plays is the sims 2 would this run on a netbook?

I have a netbook, 10" and upgraded to 2GB of ram. I use it for facebook, ebay, surfing , itunes, and for uTorrent without any issues at all. It cant do youtube hd though, but the lower resolutions it handles fine. extremely portable, i forget its in my bag sometimes!

not sure on sims 2

Remember they don't come with an optical drive.

a very good point. Things like Office (and probably sims) require you to install something like daemon tools and mount an ISO to install. not sure if sims requires the actual cd/dvd to be in the drive all the time

Hmm the drive issue could be a deal breaker as i know i dont want to be messing about with iso`s and i know for sure a teenager wont LOL
