Netbook display question - probably simples!

Received my new netbook today (Lenovo S10-2). Absolutely loving it but getting a little frustrated at not being able to see whole menu windows sometimes. Just installed Windows Live Messenger but a lot of the options windows extend below the bottom task bar so I can't click 'ok', 'cancel' etc. I can obviously press the space bar to make the choice but there must be an easy way to make these menus display slightly smaller etc

I did try but couldn't in the end. Maybe that's just how computing is on tiny 10" netbook screens? Just wasn't sure if there was a way to make all menu windows smaller by default?
