netbook on t.v screen ??

hi all, trying to get acer netbook to work on my new tv.. got it plugged in to the p.c input on the t.v. (choosen p.c as source) and when i switch the netbook on i get the bios boot screen o.k and i get the windows loading screen and welcome screen o.k but as soon as i log on to my account the whole screen just gose light blue, i tried using screens 1/2 in the display menu on the net book but no luck... can anyone tell me the exact settings i need . netbook is running vista
 
Sounds like you're doing everything right. Tried rebooting, new cable, different tv?

Press windows key and P to make flicking over easier.
 
t.v and cable must be o.k as i get the boot and welcome screen on the t.v fine.. the welcome screen will stay on the t.v until i click on my account, the screen then goes blue
 
thanks for help all.. i'm halfway there, what i'm getting is dual display only, i can't get primary on t.v but i can drag windows from netbook to t.v screen which is fine for the moment.
