Netbook required.

I've been tasked with finding a Netbook for my mother-inlaw with a budget of ~£400 but the area is new to me.

What's a good brand, what spec should I aim for? As you can tell I'm a bit lost when it comes to netbooks.

Thinking of going for Asus EEE PC 1201N.

Have you thought about a Asus UL30A-A1? It's a 13'' notebook, still very small, and with better battery life. You can get one cheaper (under £400) than a Asus 1201N. If you don't plan on needing Ion platform (3D stuff).

3 gigs of memory, plays HD stuff, bigger screen, bigger keyboard, same resolution, dual core processor.

Asus makes good netbooks as well, the EEE PC line.

Else I'd consider a Pinetrail netbook, like the EEE PC 1005PE and a one gig upgrade.

Thanks. I popped into CPW and had a look at the Asus, it's very nice. I will suggest it to the mother in-law.
