Hi all,

After a laptop/ netbook with max 11'' screen that can play the following games decently + be good for net browsing.

Starcraft 2
Diablo 3 (when released)
Poss Cod MW3
Resi Evil 5

I was looking at the Lenovo ThinkPad X121e - the amd 450 one.

Any other alternatives?
Thanks

Similar desire here. I want an 10.1" (i.e. normal) netbook with decent game playability.

I've been tracking the cedar trail CPU for ages - will they be the best when they are (eventually) released?

Any reason for going for the AMD450 over the i3-2367? Just bought one with the intel for one of the sales guys at work who wanted a smaller laptop, came to about 430 incl vat & delivery and that was speccing it with larger battery, Win 7 pro and 4gb ram.

It comes with the integrated HD 3000, have read conflicting reports on how it compares to the 6320

Don't think the HD 3000 is good enough to play those games "Decently" which from what Ive read does better than the AMD450's.

10" will be almost impossible to get for the requirements.

You might be able to get an Alienware M11x from the Dell Outlet if you're lucky. It's a fair bit bulkier than a netbook, but it'll play games a lot better.

You won't be doing much gaming on a fusion chipset. You really need an nvidia GT525 minimum or equivalent for those for any enjoyable playability.

The only option at that screen size is an Alienware MX11 for gaming.

I noticed a deal on lenovo E525, giving you the A8-3520 with the integrated 6620G gpu. which should be better and more like the GT525 i'd imagine. cost was about £450 including 720p webcam, 9cell battery however it did only come with 2gb ram standard. its cheap enough to upgrade ram really.

Its really that or waiting for a dell outlet deal as at about £450 to £500 you can get a i3/i5 with GT525/GT540 if your lucky enough. that said they are likely to be more heavy and bigger with it being more powerful. for me i'd go with the smaller laptop.

If you go up to a 15" machine, there are loads of possibilities. Unfortunately, the OP wants an 11".

There is only once viable and vfm contender for a gaming 11" and that is the Alienware really.

Oh and the HD3000 chips on the ULV intel CPUs found in the ultraportables do not perform like the HD3000 in the desktop/larger laptops. Reviews seem to indicate about 50% slower than the i3/i5.

The benchmark on notebookcheck.net for the HD3000 is from a high end i7 system.
