Netbook v Laptop

I am looking for a laptop for my two young children to use for there school work , playing flash based games & basic games like

I was first looking at getting a laptop 15" screen but now thinking maybe a Netbook 13" screen as the whole thing is smaller so easyer for them to handle.

What I like to know is there anything that a laptop can do that a Netbook can't with like for like spec.

Would I be right in thinking a Netbook does not come with a DVD drive ?

Also is the windows 7 the same as you have on a desk top PC ?

I have £500 to spend thanks to Grandad but if I can get away with £400 then I have £100 for a wireless printer.

I am looking at the
Asus 1201N or Asus UL30A

Sorry if it's a simply question but when it comes to laptops & netbooks I not got a clue always been a desk top user.

just started looking on a similar budget myself. what about the Dell M101z or HP DM1?

13" screen is no longer netbook (imo) and no - they don't normally have optical drives

UL30A is great for the price. Recently bought one for my girl friend. Got it elsewhere for £340.
