Netbook with completely random BSOD

Hi guys

My girlfriend bought herself an Advent netbook about 6 months ago, and for the past 2 months of use she gets a completely random blue screen error and it restarts. All she uses it for is mild internet use and MS Word, the crashes sometimes happen within 5mins of turning it on and other times it can run for hours before it happens. Unfortunately it only blue screens for half a second so i cant read the code in time to have a google. Its completely stock as well so no overclock issues or anything. Has anyone any ideas what might be wrong?

Edit - Also if anyone knows a way to check previous errors to help diagnose the problem that would be ace

well first you have to start with temperature. have you checked to see what the temp readings are? could be overheating but maybe not, worth checking though.

also i would ask around places like this http://www.w00tw00t.co.uk/support/ they can give you better advice

The temp readings are all fine, its very strange. Thanks for the like ill check that out.

Check the memory with mem-test just in case one is faulty, is the hard drive ssd or mechanical.

I'll get a mem test sorted now, its a mechanical hd.

As for it automatically restarting, if you load up system properties, and go to advanced -> Startup and Recovery settings... and untick automatically restart that should let you read the blue screen text before it disappears.
