Netbook XP SP3

I have a netbook with XP on it and the recovery partition installs all the HP gubbins with it. I would like to do a clean XP install.

Can I use the CD Key supplied with the machine with my own XP cd? Or are the keys CD specific with regard to SP's etc. As my own XP cd is SP2 and a few years old and is installed on a PC already.

any oem disk of the same version of windows will work...

the new cd key will work with your older sp2 disk (I do it all the time)..(as long as its an oem disk)

I have had some with non matching SP where as soon as it is installed, Windows asks to activate without giving the 30 days grace period.
