Hi

Basically my desktop PC has crashed on me (well, either the motherboard or the CPU has) and I'm thinking about getting a netbook or a laptop instead to replace it, mainly because I'm not that fussed about newer PC games nowadays as they are almost always multi-platform and available for the PS3 or 360.

Anyway, I want to spend around £200-£300, so I'm guessing that would only really get me a netbook. The thing is, I want a netbook or laptop that will play older PC games, as I know netbooks are capable of playing stuff like the old GTA's, games from the 90's and even WoW and Morrowind/Oblivion using mods to lower textures and stuff.

Other than playing older games I will be using it mainly just for web browsing, watching films and TV shows, Spotify and MSN. One other question I have is, would I be able to link up a netbook to a 37" LCD TV to play films and TV shows or would this be a problem?

Sorry for the double-post but it wouldn't let me type anymore in the above message.

Also, could you recommend me either a netbook or a laptop (depending on which you think would be best for what I want to do) that will meet all of the above requirements and is within the price range of £200-£300 (although you can go over by a bit if needed).

Thanks for your help.

yup ill second that suggestion, picked up one of these the other day.

Cruises playing 1080p MKV files, Flash 10.1 should be out fully soon so can stream 1080p videos from the web and the like and can play a whole host of older games due to the ION chip.

HDMI out on it so you should have no problems with hooking it up.

Oh and it really is nice just to sit and surf the web/msn on, screen is really top notch

I'd by 2nd handed lappy, £300 for netbook is too expensive, for same money you can buy laptop with more powerful CPU and GPU

Netbooks dont have a dvd rom so factor that in.

Your best bet is to buy a second hand laptop at that price range with a dedicated graphics chip and a dual core cpu.

Or just fix the desktop?
