Netbooks unable to cope with certain software?

I ahve bought 2 netbooks which I planned to use them to run bluetooth marketing software on. Unfortunately the software seems to crash after a few hours and a ctrl-alt-del is needed to restart the software.

I have upgraded the memory to 2GB on both netbooks and upgraded the HDD to a SSD on one of them along with reverting from Win 7 starter to Win XP Pro, neither of which has solved the problem.

The software that I am running runs fine on 2 laptops that I have, one running Win XP Pro and the other Windows 7, both are 1.6Ghz pentiums with 1GB Ram and are a few years old.

Does anybody know what the issue could be with the netbooks? I'm considering buying a new laptop but don't want to until I know that the sopftware will work on it.

The support from the software company has been disgraceful so I thought you guys would be able to help.

Thanks

oh, I see you already did that sry....

not running the netbooks over wireless and the other machines hard wired are you?

I have turned wireless off on all the machines. All use the same external bluetooth USB dongle and none of them have onboard bluetooth. Both netbooks are decent spec and only 2 -3 months old now.

It should run fine, if the software keeps crashing then it's probably the software that is at fault. Or at least, that's what it sounds like to me in this situation. :P

I have an NC10 with 2gb of ram and Win7 Pro, it's never crashed on me once, and I use it for Photoshop and Dreamweaver. It's a bit slow I'll admit, but it manages. :)

I'm using an Acer Aspire One, spec: Genuine Windows® 7 Starter , Sapphire Blue, Intel Atom N450 (1.66GHz Processor), 2GB DDR2 RAM, 250 GB HDD, 10.1" WSVGA LED Screen, Intel NM10 Express Chipset, Intel GMA3150 Graphics, 10/100 Mb ethernet, Wifi b/g/n

Although the Acer currently has Win Vista installed with a SSD

and a Toshiba NB 305-106 spec: Intel Atom N450, Win 7 Starter 2GB RAM, Mobile Intel GMA 3150 card

The bluetooth software is a standalone application which I doubt would use Flash and is not media heavy.

Bluetooth marketing software is called Bluemagnet. It scans for bluetooth devices in the local proximity then sends a bluetooth message which comprises a text file. THe nearby mobile phone can either accept or reject the message. The software shows statistics for the number of messages that have been sent and rejected. It also logs the devices that it has recognised so that they do not get targetted again.

I also have software from smartbluetoothmarketing dot com which does the same thing, which is also crashing on the netbooks but working fine (for a few weeks not without it crashing) on the laptops.

Have you tried disabling the netbook's in built bluetooth and using a separate bluetooth dongal (idealy one you know works with Bluemagnet).

I've also try disabling all the powersaving settings, it might be the netbook going into power saving is causing the software to crash.

Tried all that. I've disabled the Toshibas built in bluetooth (Acer doesn't have any) and I'm using a Sena Dongle on both the netbooks and the laptops. I've also turned off all of the powersaving settings on all machines.

Any other suggestions as to what the problem may be? I think i can eliminate the software as I use two different applications, both of which work fine on the older laptops that I have.
