Hi there well im looking into a new laptop. But after thinking i only really use the laptop for surfing the net syncing Itunes and various letter writing ETC.
Now im thinking that maybe a decent netbook would do a good enough job.
Question is what netbooks out there are pretty decent?
Im after somethin that works well and is still fastish, I know its not going to beat any decent laptop but it would be good to have a speed ish netbook.
Any recommendations would be good or even if someone can tell me what to look out for.

Was looking at the dell mini's but never used anything like this before.

Thanks

I'd say look at the Samsung NC10, they're a bit dated now but the keyboard is amazing on them and there's a load of mods that people have done to them.

The MSI Wind is another goodun to look at apparantly.

I have just priced a Dell Mini 10 with XP (Windows 7 £20 extra) and a 6 cell battery, came out at £288 in black.
Add a USB DVD drive and you are approaching the cost of a laptop, think carefully!
I have a MSI wind copy - Medion Akoya Mini, they are very good.

Yeah thats what im thinking. Needs to be something decent fastish but also pretty good value for money.
Some are on the more expensive side i would be better getting a laptop.
I just dont want to spend a fortune on something im going to surf the net on..

After getting my Compaq Mini 311 last month, I can happily recommend it.
It can be had for around £300; I'd say it's definitely worth that.
The battery life is great (I get about 5-6 hours web-surfing), and can handle 1080p video using the Nvidia ION chip.

I've chucked in another 2GB in mine, and now it flies with Windows 7 Pro.

At the moment it seams as though they come in 2 flavour, those with ION and those without, if you want to play 1080p video then you will probably need an ION if you want to do exactly what you say, surf the net itunes ect then a non ION will probably be fine.

What sort of budget have you got ?, ive just bought a Lenovo S10-2 for £210 (pre vat increase) and so far im very impressed with it, in fact my main computer hasnt been turned on for days and battery life with heave surfing over wireless is about 6 hours.

They are just fantastic for surfing the net whilst sitting on the sofa without cooking your bits and pieces like a large laptop does.

Yes they have their limits but I find that for 90% of the time it does every thing I need.

Well i dont really want to pay more than £250.
I know i may have to slightly but that is getting into laptop prices if your hitting the £300 mark..

The Dell Mini 10 starts at £229, looks a bargain to me

I bought one of these last week (granted, I paid over the odd's - I paid £230 from Comet as I needed internet use ASAP and my PC was knackered) and I was surprised at how good it is. It boots quickly, runs smoothly and I was very surprised by how good it is.

1008HA in black can be had for £199 if you shop around, great deal. Disadvantages are difficult to upgrade and only 3 cell battery, so I'm waiting for the less sexy 1005HA to come down that far in price.

Where can you buy that POV netbook and how much AndyOcUK?
